How to Make a Healthy & Delicious Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie

Today we're sharing our favorite smoothie recipe!  Here's how to make a healthy & delicious PB&J-inspired smoothie:

What you'll need:

- blender

- 1/4 cup of water

- 1 cup of plain non-fat greek yogurt

- 1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries

- 1 banana

- 1 tablespoon of almond butter (or peanut butter)

- 14 to 16 oz cold cup (we suggest these plant-based plastic cups)

- lid for cup (here are two lid options for the cup we suggested above: dome lids and flat lids)

- straw (one of our favorite straws for smoothies)

Instructions:

(1) Pour 1/4 cup of cold water into your blender.

(2) Measure out 1 cup of plain non-fat greek yogurt and spoon it into your blender.

(3) Cut up a banana and add it to your blender.  This will give your smoothie a delicious thick texture.

(4) Measure out about 1/4 cup of frozen berries and zap them in the microwave for about 30 seconds.  This will help release their juices for a "jelly" taste in your smoothie.  Place the heated berries into your blender.

(5) Add 1 tablespoon of almond butter (or peanut butter) to the mix.

(6) Put the lid on your blender and blend until you don't see any chunks of banana or the pure white of the plain greek yogurt.  You might have to stop blender (and unplug it to be safe) and open the top and use a spoon to mix it a little if it doesn't blend easily.  Then put the lid back on, plug the blender in, and blend a little bit more.

(7) Ta-da! Pour the smoothie into your cup and enjoy your healthy & delicious PB&J-inspired smoothie!
